Peaslake face-planted window
Face planted window in Peaslake Surry
A MODERN casement window had come to the end of its life
Having removed the modern casement window we considered what form the replacement should be. We did not want to put back a modern casement window, and the owners were keen to have something appropriate to the building. We did not want to insert a mullion window as it would have confused the building’s narrative. Face planted windows were historically a transitional window found between the mullion window and casement windows. Installing this window meant that it could be completely reversed without any damage to the building or confusion of the narrative.
